Open Gardens ~ Charity Event
UPWELL OPEN GARDENS
Yes it’s happening! Twelve people have kindly agreed to open their gardens for us on Sunday 29th June and have no doubt been working hard to ensure that everything looks really splendid. All we need now is YOU!
Please reward their efforts by coming to visit the gardens between 1.00 and 5.00 p.m. Enjoy a family afternoon out together, picking up ideas and seeing what else the gardeners have for you. Some are selling plants, jam etc while others will offer you teas and even a glass of Pimms. Getting round the gardens should not be a problem; the programmes, which also double as your entry tickets, are on sale in most local shops and the gardens themselves. They cost £2.00 each per person and any accompanied children under the age of twelve can enter free of charge. There is a map inside indicating where the open gardens are – these will also be identified by coloured balloons – and you are welcome to travel by car if unable to walk; or take advantage of the minibus we are providing which will depart from, and return to, the Church throughout the afternoon.
Do please come if you can and help to make this a memorable occasion while at the same time supporting good causes as the money raised will go to MAGPAS; Greenfingers, which is a society that creates gardens for children’s hospices, and St. Peter’s Church, where there will also be wonderful flower displays for you to enjoy as part of the Patronal Festival. AND – there is a Craft Fair in the Village Hall.
